Located a scenic drive from Melbourne, the picturesque
township of Marysville is nestled in the forested hills of the
Marysville State Forest. The pristine waters of the Steavenson
River flow through the township, providing a magnificent
backdrop to a vibrant community. Melbourne’s closest alpine
resort Lake Mountain, situated in the beautiful Yarra Ranges
National Park, is only a short 20 minute drive away. Equidistant
between Healesville via the magnificent Black Spur, and
Alexandra past the spectacular Cathedral Range State Park,
Marysville was established in 1863 as a stopover for diggers on
their way to the nearby goldfields. Marysville Primary School was established soon after in 1870, with 2020 marking 150 years
of outstanding educational service to the community.
Marysville Primary School reopened in April 2010 at the previous school site at 15 Falls Rd after the Black Saturday fires. As a consequence our School, Shire Pre School and Maternal Child Health Centre all relocated to the same site to see what we have today – a proud and purposeful showcase of 21st century state of the art facilities, teaching and learning.
Marysville Primary School forms part of a Community Hub with Maternal Health, Kindergarten, Playgroup and OSHCare co-located. This has brought together stakeholders from Murrindindi Shire, DET North East Region, Marysville Marysville Primary's School Council and Principal. Links are established between school, preschool and maternal child health.
We are all dedicated to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students while challenging them to achieve academically for a future full of learning. Our school is fully compliant with Child Safe Standards and hold zero tolerance toward child abuse.
An active School Council, Parents Club and broader community are united in their support for the wellbeing and learning of all students in our care.
