THE CHAPLAIN'S ROLE
Our Chaplain Anna-Marie, supports the social and emotional well-being of the students, staff and families at Marysville Primary School.
WHAT THE CHAPLAIN DOES:
• Provides one-on-one support for students and families.
• Spends time in the playground and classrooms building positive relationships with students.
• Upholds the schools’ values of Respect, Responsibility and Community - with a committment to Pride and Nurturing our learners
ACCESSING SUPPORT
Accessing the Chaplain can be initiated be a teacher, student, or parent.
Should a teacher identify that a child could benefit from additional support or encouragement, they would ask the child if they would like to speak to the Chaplain and them arrange a convenient time.
A student may request a one-on-one chat with the Chaplain. If this needs to happen during class time the teacher will be consulted. Parents can also contact the Chaplain directly via email: anna.steyn2@education.vic.gov.au
ART THERAPY
Art therapy is a tool Anna-Marie uses to help students interpret, express, and resolve their emotions and thoughts. Students work with Anna-Marie to explore their emotions, understand conflicts or feelings that are causing them distress, and use art to help them find resolutions to those issues.
SCHOOL BREAKFAST CLUB
Our Breakfast Club runs five days a week from 8:10am – 8:50am, giving students the best possible start to their school day.
The program provides more than just a nutritious meal – it helps students to:
Improve concentration and focus in class
Build friendships and strengthen social skills
Begin the day feeling settled, supported, and ready to thrive
Breakfast Club is always buzzing with happy faces, friendly chats, and plenty of support from parents and our wider community. We love seeing so many students come along each morning – and we’d love to see even more!
